Not sure what else to say. derailleur not responding at all. and yes, I’ve tried the tension screw being a million different levels of tightened. I cannot find any videos online addressing this since there isn’t a barrel in line adjuster. all I can find are set up videos for this derailleur, all of which have not helped🫠🫠

what is the issue / how do I fix this??

Yeah I’d say untension the cable from the derailleur and see if you can feel the pull with your hand while holding it. That’ll narrow it down to the cable or the derailleur. Not much to go off in that pic though.

Also that cable is absolutely not routed correctly through the bolt. Look up the actual instructions on Bike.shimano.com and go from there.

And put a thimble on that cable end, please. That one strand that’s already sticking out looks so eager to stab you.

If it previously worked, then the cable is almost certainly snapped inside the shifter. I say that because there doesn’t seem to be any resistance to the upshift whatsoever.

You could also look at the cable outside of the mech and see is there any change at all when you shift, perhaps by holding tension with your finger and shifting.

Loosen the cable clamp from the derailleur and pull the cable with pliers and retighten. Make sure the shifter is all the way down to the lowest point. Also tighten the derailleur against the frame mount.

  6. Probably a broken cable, or check on the derailleur and make sure the bolt that clamps the cable is tight, it looks like it is from the video but you never know

The cable is either broken or not routed correctly. You can see that it’s missing along the routing path @ 0:16 in the vid.
