from what I could read online, all nine speed chains are compatible. When my old quick link broke, I went to the local bike shop and got a new one. The new ones says 9s. On the chain it writes kmc e9s As it is an E bike. I have tried to take it off two times. Are they not compatible. am i doing something wrong. thanks

Looks like it should be compatible and like it’s installed correctly. Maybe theres just some dirt stuck in there that needs to get shed, maybe try hand cranking it a few times and see if it gets unstuck.
If it has clipped in all the way insert a flathead screwdriver and gently pry the links apart on the quick link as well as each link on the end of it (between the silver plates). They may have become compressed. You don’t need to turn the driver like you’re trying to break the plates off, just enough to move them back out.
Unclip it. Grease both ends, Clip it back.
Take a picture from the other side. Both sides of the quick link do not look parallel on that picture.
I’d take it off and give it a clean – then reinstall it making sure it clicks in properly, then lube it and wiggle it until it moves as it should.
Roll the chain until quick link is on the upper side. Brake back wheel and apply force on the pedal, just to be sure is fitted all the way in.
Take it out and put a new one in.
Is it the right speed link for your chain? A 12 speed might do this on an 11 speed chain for example.
Is it really hard to get it together like not the clip it but to get them started?
Not certain, but very likely that the chain is slightly beefier as it’s e-rated and thus causing the link which isn’t e-rated to bind.
E-chains are typically stronger overall due to the force some e-bikes can produce and the fact that most people don’t change gears, they just up the power level when the grade changes.
