I’m planning a ~5 day bikepacking trip starting from Flensburg into southern Denmark and would really appreciate some feedback.
I’ll be riding an MTB with some gear (not ultralight), planning to mix shelters and tent camping along the way. I’ve put together a route on Komoot (attached), going via Als → ferry (Fynshav–Bøjden) → south Funen archipelago → ending around Svendborg.
I don’t have a ton of bikepacking experience yet, so I’m mainly wondering:
- Does this route seem realistic / manageable with an MTB and gear?
- Are there any sections that might be tougher than expected (wind, terrain, etc.)?
- Any must-see spots I might have missed?
- Good shelter spots or camping areas along the way?
If anyone has ridden parts of this route or knows the area, I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions for improvements 🙏
Open to any tips, changes, or alternative ideas!

Kommt drauf an was fürn MTB es ist und welche Reifen du drauf hast.
Loser Untergrund kann gerne einfach Gravel sein, mir fällt aber gerade nicht ein was naturbelassen heißt.
Es sind halt nur 6% wirklich hard off-road, da sollte das MTB mehr als genug sein. Ich gucke mir gleich die Route nochmal genauer an, auf dem Handy geht das schlecht.
Ich bin eine ähnliche Tour mit Trekking MTB gefahren. Einziger Unterschied ist dass wir über Æro gefahren sind. Und danach noch weiter bis Malmö. Aber Randinfrastruktur in Dänemark ist insgesamt sehr gut. Top beschilder, angenehm zu fahren, sehr viele schöne Campingspots. udinaturen.dk ist da die beste Quelle. Gut gepflegte Datenbank von Shelter und Trekkingplätzen direkt vom dänischen Staat. Gibt aber auch manchmal Plätze die da gar nicht drin sind.
Persönlicher Tipp: Teltplads Blomeskobbel. Kurz vor Fynshavn, direkt an einer Steilklippe mit Meerzugang. Leider ein kleiner Umweg, aber der Sonnenaufgang war einfach nur traumhaft.
