CROUS housing refers to university-owned residential accommodations, including rooms and apartments, that are offered to students at rates significantly lower than market prices. However, it is important to note that the demand for these accommodations is typically high, and the allocation process can be competitive.
Steps Involved in obtaining CROUS Housing
Complete your Student Social File (DSE) :
Before you can submit your housing preferences, you must finalise and validate your DSE. The allocation of housing is based on the social criteria outlined in your DSE. If you are not impacted by the DSE, you can participate in the Additional Allocation Phase, which will commence on July 9.
Submit your Housing Preferences :
Starting from May 7, 2024, at 10 a.m., you can submit up to four housing preferences, encompassing all cities and Crous locations. The deadline for submitting your preferences is June 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. (Paris time).
Housing Allocation :
The first allocation cycle will take place on June 11, 2024. If you have submitted your preferences, you will receive a notification via email and/or SMS by the end of the day.
Confirm Your Choice :
If you receive an accommodation offer, you have until Thursday, June 13, at 11:59 p.m. (Paris time) to confirm your choice.
If the Initial Response is Negative :
If you do not receive a positive response in the first round, don’t worry! Three more allocation rounds will follow in the subsequent weeks, until July 4.
Accommodation Requests until August 31, 2024
You can continue to submit accommodation requests for the current 2023-24 academic year until August 31. The Crous will respond to your request within a few days, subject to availability. Additionally, you can submit accommodation requests for internships or medium-term stays (longer than 30 days), and the Crous will respond promptly based on available accommodation.
