Hey everyone, reaching out to see if anyone has had luck with Bosch or Canyon regarding component failures on practically new bikes.
I have a brand new Canyon Grand Canyon:ON 7 that I’ve barely been able to ride yet due to the Seattle winter. Sadly, the battery has already stopped charging. The eBike Flow app shows it has only had 4 charging cycles total, but it’s now throwing a persistent Error 620012 (Short Circuit).
Canyon mentioned they can't cover labor or diagnostic fees for third-party parts like Bosch. Since I’m now facing unexpected out-of-pocket costs for a bike that is essentially brand new, I’m wondering if anyone has had Bosch "step up" in these situations?
Ideally, I'm hoping they might authorize an upgraded battery or drive unit replacement to help offset these diagnostic fees. Has anyone had success getting an upgrade or a "goodwill" gesture from Bosch when the hardware fails this early?
Thanks for any advice!

You should contact Bosh directly. They have a 2 year warranty with normal use, in the EU at least.
Maybe they’ll direct you to a bikeshop that can fix things for you
I’ve always had canyon cover all labour fees at my LBS. that includes handling the warranty replacement of broken 3rd party fork (Rockshox Lyrik) and troubleshooting my Spectral:ON that randomly shut down while riding.
What they told me before the fork replacement was “if it’s covered by rockshox warranty, we’ll cover the labour for swapping it”
Also got quite cheap rear wheel upgrade when I asked canyon if it’s possible: I got to buy a new wheel from wherever I wanted, gave them the receipt and they paid back how much new original rim would’ve cost them.
That’s all in EU though, kind of odd that they have so different policy in NA
