A bike trip in nearby Slovenia in the Green Karst. We did a loop starting from Razdrto, just outside the Italian border. You pass through Pivka with its historical museum, then up into the mountains to Masun, where it’s easy to encounter brown bears. Then Koseze, Kozarisce with Sneznik Castle, Cernika and its intermittent lake, then the incredible caves of Krizna with their fossil remains, and finally Postojna with its legendary caves adorned with stalactites and stalagmites of the most incredible shapes. Thanks to the guys at https://www.bikeslovenia.si/sl/, in particular Tomaz Penko and Natasa Kocjncic, who were our guides and travel companions, experts on the area and always willing to show cycle tourists around their land.
