Hello, my right Sram Rival brake handle suffers from really slow return. It started during a rough gravel race, no impact just slowly started happening between two stages. The brake power is OK but not great (well, what I'd expect from Rival), it might be a little bit spongy but other than that it's almost normal.
The brake caliper and pistons are working fine, they protrude normally. I just changed brake pads to make sure. I have also completely emptied brake fluid and rebled it with fresh dot fluid.
I just changed the brake hose "connector" (not sure of the correct name – https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/sram-rival-e-tap-axs-hydraulic-brake-hose/138244388/p). But still the same.
Any guesses on how to fix it? …New bike? 🙂
Many thanks in advance!

I had the same 2 weeks ago, sudden bite point change and slow return.
Did a small bleed at the top port without opening at the bottom and it fixed it.
No idea on sram rival specifically but research what makes them pop back normally if you haven’t already. That’s what’s probably broken. If I had to guess it’s gonna have to do something with the brake hose tho
Easiest possibility since it developed in a gravel race would be the pistons became sticky with dirt or dust.
Maybe cleaning those properly will help.
sram has a video to ‘massage’ the pistons, and you can clean them with alcohol in the process.
