Needs a little love, but everything works and it rides real smooth. My son wants to buy a high end mountain bike, so I figured I would sell this to help him with raising the money he needs. Can someone give me an idea of what I should ask for it? A friend of mine told me the rear rack is worth more than the whole bike, but I’m unsure of how good his information is on that.

I love bikes like this but you can’t expect to sell it. Maybe $20. Use it to teach your kid how bikes work. Give it away to someone whose circumstances it would change.
Unfortunately he’s right. Worth more in parts than as a whole bike. If you really want to ride it, put smaller chainrings on it and get the special compound for the chrome rims and it’ll be a fun cruiser. Of course all the bearings will need regreasing, liable to need new cables and a tune up will be welcome.
