Back in 2019 I cycled across the USA on the TransAmerica Trail. Here's a little extract from my blog: https://linesonamap.substack.com/p/vignette-of-america-vol-i
I always said I'd head back in 2026 to do a section again and celebrate the 50th anniversary of AdventureCyclingAssociation.
But that hasn't happened, and honestly the appeal of the US has waned a little, even though I know the country is filled with lots of lovely people.
Anyway, is there a mass start organised for the TransAmerica Trail? Are people here planning on riding?

I did the TransAmerica Trail in 1989. I plan to bike part of it again this summer from Astoria to Yellowstone. Hope to see you out there.
Dude, I had no idea it was the 50th. But just happen to be planning on going this year. In about 6 weeks actually.
Yikes, people ride bikes thru the Gilead red states? 😬
I did the trail in the summer of 2025. if i had known about the 50th anniversary perhaps I would’ve waited one more year lol
Wanted to do it in 2014 and it didn’t work out, but would still love to someday. This year isn’t it though.
Yep. I’ll be going westbound from NYC to SF. Starting on May 5th. Meeting up with the TransAm in Marshfield Missouri. I’ll be taking the Golden Gravel Route from there to Pueblo though.
OOOOOHHHH. I was on it in 76. Hadn’t thought about that 50 year thing!!!
