hey y'all, looking to put a frame bag on my singlespeed hardrock. However frame is not super optimal. is it stupid to consider making a frame bag that'd sit above the top tube as pictured so there'd still be 3 connection points or would it be too wobbly/annoying.
thinking of using a very structural waterproof material, something like tarpaulin.

It’s not unheard of. Obviously thinking about how to secure it to the bike well is important, but that’s a solved problem if you look at existing designs.
Yoooo this would be rad and useful AF
NOT stupid
Not stupid at all.
I think you’re onto something good. Trying to find one that fits might be tricky, but making a custom one is ideal. And top access is fantastic
Devil’s advocate, but putting a framebag on top kinda negates the beauty of a step through. What about saddle bags or something?

I think one filling the frame would be best, otherwise it’s like trying to turn a step through into a regular frame. Just my opinion. It is your bike and you can do whatever you want because that’s what makes bikes fun.
