Sharing some pictures taken at the D&L Trail at Lehigh Gorge State Park when the built was done! Been loving this bike so much and has since moved to brakeless
After 2 Izumi chains and more than ~2000 miles, I have decided that they are just too noisy. After some research, I understand that they are bushing chains and may just not work well with wax, and so decided to move onto (bushingless) KMC K1SL Wide chains. However, the KMC chain comes with a different master link than the Izumi. Izumi has a spring clip to hold things together, while KMC MissingLink is more like a road quick link style.
Iβm just wondering if the KMC MissingLink is safe for brakeless riding? Could that link ever come undone during heavy skidding? Would love to hear your experiences especially if you have ran KMC K1SL!

Should be fine. Lots of people use KMC chains fixed.
KMC K1SL on all my rigs, the Ti gold is just the cherry on top of any build. I have reused the missing link 3-4 times even though it says not to and havenβt had any issues. But i have new missing links i swap out to after 3 reuses.
Been using KMC K1SL with a half link on my fixie for the past several years, been running smoothly.
