  1. I’d be pretty stoked on that for a grand. Not the deal of the century, but it’s going to be great to ride.

  2. It’s a little dated and you’re going to get people telling you that carbon rim brakes are a death trap (they’re not), but still a pretty great bike and it looks like it was taken good care of.

My only hesitation is that there is basically no upgrade path for this. Otherwise a decent deal.

    It’s dated but awesome

Edit: are the rims legit or some cheap dangerous knockoffs?

  4. Is it hilly where you will ride? This is a racing bike with a gearing setup that’s not super hill-friendly. Doesn’t make it a bad bike but hills are not going to be awesome on this bike for a beginner.

That said, it’s really similar to my first serious road bike (Orbea orca of similar vintage) and I loved riding that bike (although hills were a real challenge until I got a bigger cassette, which required a new rear derailleur too).

I just made a similar buy, but a giant defy. Full carbon, top tier group set, 2017 bike. $975. Very happy with it. Fastest thing I’ve ever ridden and very comfy geometry.

Have it inspected by a professional bike mechanic before buying. If it’s all good, I’d have it over any new bike at that price point.

  7. IF the bike fits you, and that is the most important, you will get a lot of miles out of a $1000 purchase. Definitely worth it.

Its old…technology has come a long way since 2011. Spend that $1000 towards a brand new bike…cannodale synapse is a nice comfortable bike ranging from $1700-$3000 depending on the frame materials
