First new bike in a quarter century (damn, I’m old). Didn’t have a big budget, and found this guy after watching a video from Cycling Weekly that toured the company’s headquarters.
This is the XDS Rocket 520. It may not be as well-known as other models, but it had what I wanted: 29er, hydraulic disc brakes, and a 3x derailleur. Plus, coming from my old steel bike, this thing is as light as a feather. $500.
I’m not looking to do any kind of extreme riding, but it should be suitable enough for the local trails. Can’t wait to go rip them.
