always the newbies with brakeless conversion ghost bikes with no straps
I’ve ridden with BLB Lockdown and Bugaboo bagatoe straps, never had issues. Cheap Amazon straps on the other hand have led to a slight near death experience so I’d steer clear of that option 😅

The best straps I’ve found have been no-name $10 ones from eBay
I just DIY mine, buy material and give them to shoe-repairman to sew together for few €, dont like any metal pieces that many of the straps have as they tend to wear out my shoes quicker. You can find YT video on that easily. Lasts me years.
