  1. Based on the fork alone. No – very cheap and bad. Plenty of good bikes out there for $300 that are similar. Keep an eye on marketplace.

    but yah be patient an more gooder stuff should pop up on fb marketplace. The frame is actually nice but pretty old… I don’t identify that as a problem if there are no cracks, just a question if it actually fits you+ how long that fork could last even under a beginner.. I really like classic 26″ bikes on single track / not too gnarly stuff. Still wouldn’t offer more than $200

    Worth checking craigslist, sometimes even ebay. For this sort of money there is an argument for the Ozark Trail Ridge, there’s a bit of a community around them so you could think about upgrades as you go and it’s probably a more modern geometry than whatever you’re likely to find.
