This is the first time I ride a bike with gears in the hub.
Every few kilometers I had to stop and screw the little pin for the wire of the hub to work.
With the help of ChatGPT I’m figuring out that it is missing a piece that holds the thing together. Is that the locknut? Where do they sell a replacement ?

Yeah your missing the locknut you can buy a new chain with locknut for very little money I’m not sure of the thread pitch to recommend a specific knurled nut for it.
Speak to your nearest dealer – you have all stores and their phone numbers here:

Ask them for gear indicator chain locknut, if you’re lucky they will give you a replacement one free of charge, as this is considered a small part. Officially, this is a part of the whole [gear indicator chain](https://brilliantbikes.co.uk/brompton-hub-gear-parts-and-cables/522-brompton-qgich3-sa.html?search_query=gear+indicator+chain&results=1338)
[This](https://youtu.be/X6RpE0u9FnA?si=P_CNKIPt85WZw4uR) is how you then put it together however it can be a little bit fiddly if you don’t have previous experience with it (patience is a major key here, a few times and you’ll be able to do it blindsided). If unsure, ask dealer to do this for you on the spot (again, a very small job so you might get away with that, but this is up to the dealer if they will charge you).
