I noticed a clicking when I’m riding yesterday and saw this poking out on the right side. I’ve been able to shift gears. Based on search, it seems like the bike shifter cable, but not sure what’s wrong/if I need to take it to a bike shop for repair.

Its a simple fix make sure to route the front derailleur cable around it. Put the plastic cap back on top. Check this video:https://youtu.be/-3_EU4cccW4?is=OldPrVIiOBhyW81K

It’s a fd cap so that to keep dust and debris away from the cable fixing mechanism, I think u just need to cut your cable short so that it won’t hit ur frame or wheelset and cause sounds
