I’m building a RAAW Yalla!V2. It’s my first build and I’m learning through a lot of trial and error. I have a Sram GX DH 7 speed. I measured the chain using the bottom out suspension, loop chain around largest cog, and measure 2 rivets from the reference rivet. I’m lost as to whether the chain is too long, too short, or an issue with B screw, or something else. Any advice greatly appreciated! It looks like the derailleur will get smashed on a rock this stretched out. I thought it should be more tucked in?

The B-screw looks to far in. Try shifting into the highest gear (smallest cog at the back), then loosen the B-screw until the chain on the upper jockey wheel on the derailleur is 2-3mm away from the teeth on the cog.

  2. Did you follow the installation manual for your derailleur?

Read the manual here if you haven’t already: [https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/user-manuals/sram-mtb/drivetrain/1x-mtb-mechanical-derailleurs-user-manual.pdf](https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/user-manuals/sram-mtb/drivetrain/1x-mtb-mechanical-derailleurs-user-manual.pdf)

Did the derailleur come with a red plastic chain gap gauge? You use that to set the B-screw gap with the chain on the largest cog and the suspension in it’s sag position, not fully compressed. It looks like the screw is too far in right now. The gap between the derailleur guide (top) pulley and the cassette is too wide.

If you don’t have the gauge, there’s a method in the manual to set the gap.
