I posted earlier about my new bike, a Marlin 4 Gen 2. Certain upgrades were recommended, specifically better wheels and tires. Being a novice at this, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like this is possible?
This bike comes with a 7-speed Shimano cassette freewheel (6 bolt disc) and just the few rims I looked at ask what kind of freehub I need and cassettes of speeds 8 and up, which seems to be the problem; the hub/cassette. Then spacing, which is usually boost or super boost. Not sure if the spacing matters as much when looking to change, but you experienced riders please educate me. The current are also all quick release, which I like, but do not care if that were to change. Also, what tires do you recommend? HELP!? (again, the bike is pictured and thanks in advance)

The Marlin in general (no matter the generation or model number) is not an upgradeable bike, not in the ways you’re looking for. Tires? Sure, get a good set of Maxxis, Continental, or Schwalbe. Your LBS can help you pick.
But the fork, wheels, drivetrain… all use older size and equipment standards that newer mountain bike parts don’t use anymore. You’re better off saving your money and putting it toward a more modern bike.
