I just saw a 2023 checkpoint ALR 5 for $1,400. I did test ride an ALR 4 Gen 3 ($2,000 no tax in Oregon), which felt like a Cadillac to me since I’d be upgrading from an early 90’s road bike. Does the asking price seem fair or should I opt for the newer model for $600-$700 more? I do prefer white for visibility as I’ll be using it as a commuter and occasionally hitting the trails.

Does a 58 frame fit you? I don’t think 5’10” – 6’2″ is really correct. I’m 5’10” and mine is a 54.
Good call. I tried the M/L and I’m 5’10, it felt really comfortable so the 58 could be too big.
I’m 6’ and I have the ALR5 in a 58cm.
For me to comfortably ride it I had to get a shorter stem.
the 58 is probably pushing your limit for reach.
