Due to the cable routing situation (tight bend under the stem) I think it would be prudent to seek a riser stem instead of this stem and bars with no rise.. that way bars are still in roughly the same spot. I’d also enjoy the extra flat area on a zero rise bar by adding some tape for an additional hand position .. ideally alloy like these and at least 620mm width like these… any suggestions? I see folks in here flaunting their big wide sweepy $100 bars and that’s well and good but I’m not in that league, these dimension bars cost me $20, would be swell if there’s something similarly priced with no rise.. or at least under $50

  1. I know you said “no rise” but the Steve Potts camper bar has very subtle rise and looks like pretty similar sweep and are 740mm. I love em

  2. You can also get a cable hanger thats lower. Might be cheaper and lets you keep this bar.

  3. What if you routed the cable over the stem?

If you had a really tall stem you could also flip the bars lol

Wald handlebars are a sleeper option, but I agree that a cable hanger would probably fix this too.

Go up and over the bars on the left side of the stem. Add a noodle if needed

Is the cable noticeable while riding? Because the bend doesn’t look like it should be a problem. If it is not annoying while riding, I would personally just keep it the way it is.

I think the Velo Orange Curvy bars are exactly what you’re describing. Unfortunately they are $60 so slightly out of budget but nice and wide

  8. Ergotec moon has 0 raise, but slightly less backsweep at just 23°

Their lady town bar has just 16mm raise but a comfortable 30degree backsweep which looks like yours.

Then there is the Toulouse with 15mm raise, extreme 63degree backsweep which results in reduced with. it looks great on a 700c mixte, but awkward with that much backsweep on a mtb frame.
