I used to be ride all conditions, but with zwift, and much harder servicing of bearings with internal cables, press fit bbs, and expensive Di2 getting covered in winter road grime it just makes less and less sense to brave those conditions. I also don’t want to ride 3 months of the year on a shitty winter bike, when i can ride indoors at any time i like.

I can do it until about -2 C, less than that and even the best gear I have becomes insufficient (especially gloves and shoes).
The big issue with winter riding is what happens if you suffer a technical issue and are forced to troubleshoot. Even changing an inner tube becomes very very challenging in freezing temperatures. It’s basically if any issue happens, you light the beacon and call for aid.

Below 15 degrees farenheit becomes miserable. Below 0 degrees farenheit and my eyeballs start hurting.

I just ride a fat bike all winter. Still a good workout, just slower. And more fun than sitting on a trainer inside.

Hehe, this was during a race in late spring too.
