I’m trying to remove this freewheel but I’m stuck.
It does not have the usual internal splines for a removal tool.

The only thing I see are these outer notches around the body (pointed with my finger). What tool do I need for this? Is it a specific type of external freewheel remover? Or do I have to use a different method?

I asked my local bike shops and they don't recognize this type of freewheel.

you need a chain whip and freewheel tool or a flathead and a hammer to remove the lockring

  2. Have you tried a freewheel tool in it?

Sometimes they start a few mm in from the end so you can immediately see them, especially if it’s not clean

Middle picture, about 9 o’clock there’s a little notch on the inner “collar” opposite side should have the same notch. Since this is a freewheel the outer ring will disassemble the freewheel. If you are replacing the freewheel disassembling it might be the easiest way. If you need to reuse it a LBS should have that tool, it’s not common these days for a wheel to have that style/brand freewheel. Once all the gears are off the inner portion can be locked in a vise and unscrew the freewheel. If you clean up the freewheel with the nut off, if those are not removal notches, you will see splines inside the freewheel under the nut.

  4. I can see internal splines, just looks dirty. Might not be shimano but definitely the same type of removal tool (there are a few) take to lbs they’ll get it off

Sometimes the smallest cog (or for some Suntour freewheels, two cogs) is threaded on. So you need two chain whips to remove, not a freewheel tool.
