After months and months, I finally finished my Primos Dame build! This is my first ever fully new build, and I'm so stoked with how it turned out! Prior to this, my newest bike was from 1993, and standards have changed a LOT since then. Such a great learning experience.
Matched it up with a Surly Dinner Fork on the front to help with packing for trips. This is such a beautiful fork, love the color!
Mostly everything in the cockpit is Velo Orange. Curvy bar, stem, spacers, Grand Cru short throw brake levers, Zeppelin fenders, and I even managed to score one of their old leather saddles and a seatpost on FB Marketplace!
Drivetrain wise, it's the Shimano Deore M5100 line with a few modifications:
Swapped out the 30t front for a 42t. Rear is the 11-51t cassette.
Stripped the paint and polished up the crank arms.
Brake calipers are the State Bicycle cable actuated hydraulic calipers. They looked like a neat tech, and I love that I could still use fun colored brake housings for them!
Tires are Panaracer Gravelking SK 2025 in Cranberry and brown! When I saw these tires, I knew they had to go on this build!
Now to build a set of racks and sew up a frame back for it 🙂

Looking good. Also prefer the cranks without the branding in this case.
Beautiful bike
Sweet Jesus
Why are my pants tight in front?
Oh damn what up polished the cranks last week guy! The bike is tiddies!!
Why the Dinner Fork? Is the Primos fork not up to the task?
This guy polishes
So sick. That color version of the Dame is just perfect
So weird, I’m into it
Man, that’s beautiful! well done!
Nice but the big black derailleur sorts of spoils the look

Very well executed.

😍😍 hot damn.

Beautiful!
Color scheme is sick.
It’s a shame they don’t sell the frames anymore
Really cool build! Just ordered mine and this definitely giving me some ideas! thanks for post!
Looks great. But it’s dying for a gold KMC chain!
It looks like it belonged to a clown.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about mecha-hydro brakes in general, how have the State ones been?
Wow. Building up my own dame as well but this takes the cake. modern meets vintage. love it!
Next: polish the derailleur
Poshest cheap bike ever! Congratulations on your new built. Sexy AF!
Either you live under the sea, or this is used to power some candy making machine in Wonka’s factory. (Wonderful bike)
