I continue my ride to Hlotse, in the lowlands of Lesotho.
I meet Captain Shylock, he offers me some food and drinks for the afternoon on the road. Shortly after, I get a puncture. The situation gets a bit tensed as I am afraid to run out of sunlight before being able to reach my guest house. As I can finally resume riding, I ride across a small town where everyone is outside, coming back from work, and the crowds cheer for me as I pass. Chills.
Finally, I reach Empire guest house just at sunset, a perfect timing for this long day riding out of Maseru.

  1. "untouched" by colonization yet they have all the benefits of western industrialization from cars to running water… and they're even speaking english!

  2. What a leg; Maseru to St Monica! Sorry for the puncture though it didn't look so grave. And that guy, Captain Shylock, is an astute marketer. Lesotho is such an interesting country.

  3. Hi Yves. New to your channel. I am still catching up with your earlier posts. Man! you're amazing and such an inspiration! Wow! I wish world leaders can take a leaf out of your journey and realise we can ALL get along somehow without greed. Thank you for your posts and may God protect you on your journey!

  4. This is the fastest I have seen you riding. You might meet up with a Chinese- man with world- in Mozambique. He started his journey in Ethiopia, used the route you took through Kenya and Uganda. He is headed to Cape Town. He is in Malawi. He will head into Mozambique

  5. Captain Shylock what a sweatie .He baught such thoughtful things for you to eat as you drive .Loved the womens greeting as you passed .Such freindly people .😊

  6. Weer een prachtige vlog mooie beelden en route en d de mensen zijn allemaal vriendelijk en wij mogen mee genieten wat je allemaal doet en wat je ziet Top πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’

  7. Never seen so many friendly people greeting you constantly with a smile in their face. No grumpy and stressed people like here in the west , they even drive good , I imagine you driving in any european country with drivers horning you to get out of the way with angry faces . People in Lesotho dont seem to have much but live much better then us . No signs of depression there! Maybe paradise exists and thats Lesotho.

  8. the people in red clothes are factory workers ,you were passing industrial area and they just knocked off from day shift. the red clothes is the workers uniform from one factory that employs thousands of people.
