I wanted a mountain capable cruiser bike or high end klunker – something for casual cruises and social rides that could keep up on gravel, commutes, and light singletrack and feel rock solid.

This bike will double as a product model for my brand (bag and cup holder in the photos) so I wanted a super clean front end and spent my budget there and the frame and went cheap on brakes and drivetrain. Yes, my bar and stem cost more than the drivetrain.

Build Details:
Wilde Supertramp, Medium, Dirt Champagne
Velo Orange Klunker Bar
Velo Orange Grand Cru stem and headset
Microshift Advent MX 10 drivetrain
Shimano Cues crank
Shimano MT200 Brakes with 180mm rotors
WTB Volt Saddle
Panaracer Gravelking SK tires 29"x2"
DT Swiss 533d rims with Shimano TC500 freehub
Teravail Grips
Raceface Chester Pedals
Promax sp-1 seatpost
HandleStash (my brand) Stashquatch bag and cup holder
Philly Bike Expo Valve Stem Caps by Mad Monkey Designs

This wasy first build from scratch and I had a few challenges but I'm super happy with the result.

What a great project! I did my first build from scratch a couple years ago. Careful, building bikes is more addictive than cocaine.

  2. when the geo gets supertramp-ish I start hungering for a dropper but dang the stiff post is so clean
