I am looking into purchasing a bike and have been looking around Facebook Marketplace and stumbled upon this bike. I don’t know really much about road bikes. I was wondering if this is a good bike for a beginner? The seller has it listed for $1000 (it was cut down from $1200), is that a good deal or is that too much? I don’t know what year the bike is nor what to ask him about the bike. Any advice helps.

The picture you provided does not fully match the listing. The picture has the stock Shimano RS010 wheels, not the Mavic Aksium wheels listed. The Mavic’s should be a small upgrade. Though the rest of the bike matches so I’m not too concerned. Getting a current picture of the drive side would be helpful.
Power meters are useful if you will use them for training. If you don’t plan on training ~4-5x week they are of limited value. They are overselling the monetary value a bit too. The prices have dropped a ton. Used that power meter sell are selling on ebay for 150-200. In a local sale I would expect lower than that.
I think it is a 2018 BMC Teammachine ALR01 Two. Even with the power meter the bike seems overpriced by ~250 USD if not a bit more. The price is closer to what I expect from 11 speed carbon bikes from around the same era. It seems like they are trying to get every last $ out of the changes they made such as the saddle, power meter, pedals, wheels(maybe).
