Looking for a new bike with a bit more travel than my down-country rig and these two look awfully tempting. Does anyone have any experience with the 910 concerning maintenance? Any known problems that either of the bikes have? Any other thoughts or input is appreciated!

I’ve ridden that exact Scott as a demo once and loved it…it was so poppy and fun to push into turns
That being said, I personally would probably get annoyed with the proprietary setup for the shock, but it was a fun bike for sure
They’re (edid: add clarity) often proprietary which is ass but when they are tuned correctly – their handling is next level.
Recently picked up older Kona Process Supreme – Love this bike —
I’ve never met anyone who rides a Kona Process that doesn’t love it. It’s a great all around bike
I’d pick the Scott in a heartbeat. Had the Scott and it is absolutely killer.
Edit spelling
The scotts are a bit of a faff to work on but not impossible to still be your own mechanic. I’ve only ridden the Spark but I really enjoyed the suspension design on a range of trail types.
Kona has some ‘unorthodox’ geo numbers compared to what a lot of brands are doing with their All-Mountain/Enduro bikes, but if you want a bike that suits a more aggressive riding position it should work well.
Process
I’ve been riding my Kona process for about 6 years… it’s a tank of a bike! I’ve ridden some pretty gnarly stuff and only recently upgraded my rear shock
That scott is beas for money, top of the line..
I would go scottt in this option, just make sure its right size
Kona all day long, that Scott shock is a pain to adjust, and Scott warranty are awful to deal with if you’re outside of Europe, and parts are a pain to get.
Anyone who picks the Scott over the Kona has never worked on a genius before.
I have a Spark which is nearly identical to the Genius.
The integrated shock is great. Shock stays clean all season and it’s not hard at all to work on or adjust (despite what some folks claim)
The real problem is the headset and its cable routing. Total PITA to make any kind of changes to your stack/cockpit if you want to keep the clean factory look.
If I was looking for a trail bike I would not buy the Genius but if I had to replace my Spark (which I race on), I’d probably get another Spark.
If I would climb I pick the scott, if I wont climb that much then Kona
the Kona will actively increase your penis size and make you 10% more likable.
Get the Process.
