I was gifted an 80s Rockhopper and posted it in a few groups, kind of blew up and got a ton of comments of support and information. i didn't know anything about it or really about mountain bikes in general. The comments have inspired me to keep all the original parts and restore this thing back to OG form. i have been cleaning rust off of the components, and I dropped it off at a local reputable shop today to replace the chain, crank and some shifter cables, as well as a full tune up. Cant wait to share when it is all done!
