I’ve been riding this for the last 6 years and love it. It started off a a 2014 Raleigh Equipe entry level track bike but only the frame and forks remain. It’s a 56cm and feels perfect. Although, I have my eye on a Cinelli Vigorelli aluminium frameset but their small size is a 55cm and their medium is a 57cm. Is it better to go up or down? I’m 5ft11 or 180cm.

Thanks!

General consensus is to size down and adjust stem/saddle sizes as a pose to getting a bigger frame. Thats like the rule of thumb. Im the same height and love 54-56 frames

I’m your height and 54cm frame with a long stem and lots of seatpost feels way better than 56 and not much if either. Obviously everyone is proportioned differently but that’s how I like mine

  3. Compare the effective top tube length on the geometry sheets between the frames. Some track bikes you “size down” because the higher bottom bracket gives a shorter seat tube length. My 2003 Cannondale comes to mind (stamped 52cm on BB, TT is 54cm IIRC). Not all manufacturer’s follow this though, so it is useful to look at the geometry sheets and compare. I am right between a 54/56cm frame and I prefer a smaller frame because I find it more nimble and easier to throw around.
