We rode over to Matlock Bath on what turned out to be an absolutely mental day… and it did NOT disappoint 👀
After somehow finding a parking space in the chaos, we took a walk down the main strip to see exactly what bikes people are riding in 2026. From everyday commuters to big adventure bikes, sports bikes, and a few surprises in between — this is a proper snapshot of the UK biking scene right now.
Matlock Bath has always been known as one of the best biker hangouts in the UK… but even we weren’t expecting it to be this busy midweek!
We even spotted traffic wardens trying to hand out parking tickets… but let’s just say the bikers weren’t having any of it 😅
So the big question is… what are bikers actually riding in 2026? And are people still protecting their bikes in a place that’s considered “safe”?
Let’s find out 👇

  1. I don’t normally watch lengthy videos, but I really enjoyed this one. Great video.
Last weekend was crazy for bike meets all over the country. So many bikes everywhere. Great to see.

  2. It is illegal to deliberately cover up your number plate while parked on a public road or pavement, even if you are parked on double yellow lines. Under the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 and the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001, it is an offence to obscure a number plate to make it unreadable.

    ~ RAC

Here are the key legal points:

~ Public Highway Restriction: Vehicles parked on a public highway (which includes the road, pavements, and verges) must display their registration plates clearly at all times.

~ Deliberate Obscuration: While unintentional dirt might result in a warning, deliberately covering a plate to avoid a parking penalty is considered a more serious offence.

~ Penalties: Police can issue a fixed penalty notice of £100, and this can rise to a maximum of £1,000 for failing to comply with number plate regulations.

  3. "Traffic Wardens" + "We've all got rules to abide by" = Yes OK🤷🏻‍♂ But this event is bringing in cash to local businesses.
Exactly how often, or how many days per year does this congregation take place?
Is it any wonder that people are so very disenfranchised with the U.K with this amount of petty regulation.
People should be embracing an event where other people want to come to their town and capitalize on it.
Not shove them away with a £90 fine. 🤪

  4. Great to see you at Matlock Bath, love seeing all the bikes lined up there, You get to see everything on show from classics through to the latest superbikes, what's not to like, have one minor comment on your discussion with the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally owner, it's a myth that older Ducati's are unreliable, over the years I've owned all the Multistrada's going right back to the original 1000DS and never had reliability issues with any of them.

  5. Tell me cos I'm confused, why do bikers change out to loud exhausts and then wear hearing protectors? Doesn't make sense to inflict noise on everyone else while protecting themselves. Sez a guy running a stock exhaust and no hearing protectors!!!🥴

  6. I've been a biker for 35 years and I've never understood why they would want to crowd together or even go on group rides. I love riding but it would feel like hell being around that lot.

  7. Amazing really, cars park on the pavement and NOTHING is done about it. I reported to one of those blokes, and he said there's nothing he could do. One rule for one, and one rule for us.

  8. The best bike you commented on was the continental 650. Royal Enfield? The best value for money, smiles per mile bike out there. No ride modes, no presumptuous nonsense like the self proclaimed premium brands!

  9. I've had tickets put on my gsxr by these council parking wardens. I have ignored every single one, no call to discuss. No email, answer to a letter, nothing.
I then got threat letters from so called sheriff officers, threats of court, of wage arrestment, threats of calls to my door. All ignored and absolutely nothing from them. Exactly the same with these emotions charges for city centre.
They don't have a leg to stand on, all these parking tickets given out by these council dictators are a civil matter.
The only tickets or fines we need to sort out are police issued. That is a legal matter and should be paid.
It costs our councils far more money chasing us for a parking ticket than they will ever make back.
Fk local councils and fk the government, I'll never be ripped off by these idiots using road users as a cash cow.

  10. If I can't fight off the bike robbers & there's no chance I can get away I would slash my tires quickly. I rather call out the AA than losing my bike

  11. Night ride the fish n chips girl… use to goto MatlockkBath in the 60sNorton Manx .. International.. Triumph Bonnie .. Tritons .. Gold Star's..
