Is the nut on the crank arm missing? There should be a nut.

Is the cat handy at all?

You need a new left hand crank. You want a square tapered left hand crank. Measure the length from the center of the crank bolt to the center of the pedal axle to get the correct length. Should be in the 160 – 180mm range.

When you fit the new crank ensure you tighten the crank bolt after every ride. That will avoid what has happened, happening again.

  3. Assuming the square hole has been deformed, get a replacememt “square taper” arm. The length should be stamped on the inside. 170 mm is most common, but could be 165 , 170, 172.5 or similar.

Then tighten it more than this one.

I would first make the effort to properly tighten this one and see if it holds tight

  4. If tightening the bolt doesn’t help, you’ll need a new crank arm. Gone through this myself as well last year

Tighten the bolt. If that doesn’t work it’s time for a new crank arm. Take it to a bike shop. The shop will have an extra long too to really Tighten it.

  6. We all not gonna talk about how the cat moving its head is projecting on the non-drive-side crank arm? Send the cat packing; problem will be solved.
