Found this 1990 diamondback Apex at my local play it again and couldn’t pass it up. Thankfully, most the original Deore hardware was still in good condition.
new stem, drop bar, bar ends and some borrowed v-brakes and she is a fun gravel ride. Could probably use a BB replacement to get off on the right foot but happy with how it’s coming together

I love the way my Diamondback Apex rides.
When I finally decided YOLO and had a custom frame built, the frame builder said “bring your best riding bike”. It was an easy decision to bring the Apex.
He measured me. He measured the Apex. He watched me ride it. He built a beautiful bike with all the details I wanted and had it painted the color I choose. My custom bike is built on 650b wheels. There are a couple of other small changes to accommodate my body-type, but overall it is very similar. I couldn’t be more pleased. Now, I keep my custom bike at home and my Apex at work.
Love these bikes.
