Curious. Modolo OXO Stem
First 2 photos are mine, 1 inch model
Last photo I found online for 1 1/8 inch model
Modolo made these stems for 1inch or 1 1/8. looking at my very uneven steerer clamp, One side is 7mm and the other is 5mm. I’ve come to the conclusion that the 1 1/8 model is simply just reamed wider.
Would a bike/work shop be able to work on this? Has anyone had any experience with this? Very specific I know. Thank you!

Nobody but a machine shop is qualified to do that. And it’s still a bad idea.
Bike shop no. Machine shop could but the slot is done after boring the 1 1/8″ bore so they’d have to make a spacer to go in the slot to prevent chatter.
As somebody that used to price stuff for a machine shop, I’d politely decline the job. It’s not worth the hassle, risk, and most importantly the liability of it failing.
