I've been riding mountain bikes in my area, mostly on the road, for about two to three weeks. I'm moving to Sayre, PA this weekend, and I'll be riding around a trailer park with speed bumps. Do you have any recommendations? I usually wear a T-shirt and pants, no gloves, and Crocs or DC shoes when I ride. Can you give me any tips on riding and such? I'm brand new to this and haven't hit any trails yet.

Also, the purple Murray bike is my Murray Antonines mountain bike. It's used because my neighbor gave it to me, and I just want to use that bike. It's currently at my dad's friend's getting worked on. My other bike, the Huffy, I literally just got and haven't ridden yet. Can you give me any tips?

I know this isn't relevant to anything, but I gave away a Mongoose with a broken rear derailleur and a white cruiser to the guy, and he's going to work on the Murray for free. Also, somehow, one of the rims on my Murray got twisted during transport. My dad sent, or no, this guy sent my dad a picture, or no, it was a video actually, of this guy spinning the tire with the bike upside down, and the tire was really wobbling. It was really scary, and I almost peed my pants. But I'm sorry for the 3 to 4 paragraphs.

  1. What kind of advice are you looking for? Bikes? Skills? Gear? Sounds like you’re in need of some way to get to the trails. I would be careful doing anything too intense on those bikes. My advice? Ride as much as you can. Mow some yards and pick up a used hard tail. Learn basic repair skills and gain confidence working on bikes. Get an Ozark trail vibe or ridge if you want a safer entry level bike from the big box stores. Start finding trails. Have fun!

It’s all about repetition, the more you ride the better you’re going to get.
