Dt 370 laced to reserve 40s on a cannondale topstone.
Everything is torqued to spec, I have removed the rotor and caliper why tf is this brand new wheel making these vibration noises when you tap the wheel. It’s not the valve stem either.
Sounds like it is coming from the hub but it has no play.
Have installed that wheel in the background to be 100% it’s the wheel and not the bike itself.

Have spent far more time than I should trying to diagnose this.

  1. Dealing with a very similar matter right now, I suggest you check my post, a lot of people wrote different suggestions, maybe you’ll find something useful for yourself:

Slightly diifferent, but also seeing issues with reserve aluminium gravel wheels

throw an entirely different wheel in, something not so deep sectioned, and check.

deep sectioned rims and really like to transfer sound… large hollow oversized carbon frames also like to trick the ear… folks saying the front end is making noise, whe, its counde trabeling from the hrea axle or bottom bracket.

so yeah, different wheels to narrow it down to frame or wheel, then put that currnet wheel into another bike and check for similar noises…

my guess after reading all the troubleshooting (valve, sensor, brake rotor) would be brake hose, especially if internally routed.

  4. Is your front brake caliper tight? Is it the brake pads? Take the pads out of your caliper and then check for noise again?

    Loose valve stem?

  5. Is your thru axel the right size?

If so, does the wheel make this noise off the bike when bounced?

If not check the bottom of the compression bung hasn’t fallen down.

If yes, remove the end caps and make sure the bearings are seated properly and that they’re snug up against the sleeve between them.

If it’s not the compression bung or hub then there may be something loose in the rim.

  6. Headset not tightened properly. It’s one of the tricks we use to check if the headset is loose or not at our shop.
