Hi everyone, this is my 1st post on this channel. I wanted to give back something for others since this channel has given me a lot of inspiration and info to build the perfect (for me) 26 inch budget gravel weapon 😁. I’ll describe it below as a parts list and some pictures 🤙🏻

Parts:

Frame: 2004 ish Simplon Laser alu frame handbuilt in Austria;

Fork: abused and revived RockShox Tora SL 100mm coil;

Levers: Sensah SRX PRO 1×11;

Derailleur: Sensah SRX PRO 11 speed;

Front chainring: DEKAS 38t oval;

Cassette: Sunshine ultralight 11-46T;

Crankset: SRAM GX 1000 GXP;

Hubs: Novatec DO41SB FD- 32H, D042SB FD – 32H;

Rims: SXT;

Tires: Front Conti CrossKing 26×2.0(for better cornering control), Back Conti RaceKing 26×2.0 (for low rolling resistance);

Brake calipers: Abused and revived AVID BB7 mtn (I used Jagwire compression-less braking housing, works like a charm 😁);

Brake discs: Avid imitating Force discs 180mm front and back;

Handlebar: Ritchey Corralitos 440mm 1cm rise;

And other bits and pieces.

I hope this could help others to give a chance to the 26 inch builds, it rides awesome!

  1. Love a good Simplon!
    How does the drop bar / suspension combination work? Wouldn’t a remote lock up be nice?

  2. basslinesurfer on

    I have been tempted to build one of these for a whole while. Have you taken it on chunky trails and if so how did it perform?
