I can’t think of a reason why not: it’s just a regular sprocket. What are the reasons you have heard?
I’ve run this exact sprocket with a 1/2.halfmlink chain. It will ride fine, just be aware that the thinner teeth will wear out faster.
Websites say you can use 3/32 or 1/8th chains. You could probably use thicker ones but you’ll get a lot of noise out of it and maybe faster wear. It also only fits 19mm spindles.
It’s the same as any profile sprocket. I have a profile galaxy and a cult half link on my bike now. Works great.
