QoL upgrades for short 25 minute cycle to work on river trail?

Hiya, got my old bike I was gifted out the shed to cycle to work. There’s a few road parts of the route but majority of it is on trails following my local river. Quite scenic route but just wondering if anyone has any cheap recommendations of upgrades to generally improving quality of life when commuting?

Anything and everything even down to a bag mount or something? Planning on getting new tyres soon is my first aim.
