Breitenauersee campsite in south western Germany. An autumn visit! In this video, I take you on a detailed tour of the 5-Star Campingpark Breitenauer See, located in the scenic “Swabian Tuscany” region of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Situated directly on the shores of the Breitenauer See and at the foot of the Löwenstein Mountains, this 17-hectare site is widely considered one of the top-tier camping destinations in the country.
I provide a neutral overview of the site’s infrastructure, pitch options, and a comparison with the general amenities found in this 5-star class.

Landscape: Surrounded by vineyards and vast forests, it serves as a gateway to the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park.
Access: Direct access to the recreational lake (Breitenauer See) with a 3-4 minute walk to the beach.

Total Area: 10–17 hectares (recreational area included).
Pitches: 300 touring pitches (100–197 m²) plus 300 permanent annual pitches.
Surface: Grass and hard ground; some pitches are sloping while others are flat.
Utilities: All pitches include 16A electrical hook-ups (Euro-plug required), water connections, and greywater drainage.
Rentals: Log cabins, pods, barrels, mobile homes, bungalows, and rental caravans are available for non-campers.

Sanitary Blocks: Hotel-standard cleanliness with heated floors. Facilities include individual wash cabins, family bathrooms, senior-friendly showers with wall supports, and dedicated children’s sanitary areas.

Supply/Disposal: Modern chemical toilet disposal and motorhome service stations.

On-site Restaurant: “Seerestaurant” offering local German and Greek cuisine with a large beer garden.
Kiosk/Minimarket: Well-stocked shop with fresh bread rolls available daily (pre-order often recommended).
Honesty Box: A small 24/7 self-service area for basic food items and fresh products.

Water Sports: Swimming (with diving platforms and lifeguards in peak season), stand-up paddling (SUP), windsurfing, and sailing. Pedalo and boat rentals are available at the lake.

Wellness: On-site sauna and massage services (additional charge).
