I'm a bike owner for more than a month now. I decided to buy a road bike mainly for swap in a day and my cousin can borrow it too. Here's my bikes and my thoughts as someone who owned an mtb first.
Bikes:
Trinx m800 Quest 29er 1×9(13k php msrp 9k discounted) modified stem to be virtually 36er and 2.1 knobby to 1.9 urban slick
Trinx CLB 700c 3×7(7.5k php msrp 5.9k discounted) full stock
Pros:
The effort to pedal is super easy! When I compare side by side with my main bike, even if it has urban slicks, I feel it has punctured tubes. And I set it on highest speed still much easier than my mtb
It's super fast! I feel I can save time to go to work
It's hella lightweight, I can easily carry it 1 hand. While my mtb I have to carry it from center downtube to carry it

Cons:
I felt a lot of pain cause roads in PH are not maintained, my wrists hurts and especially during speed bumps I feel like my whole arms aching unlike my mtb

Cons of bike:
Since it's a cheaper bike, it doesn't use hydraulic brakes instead mechanical, my mtb instantly brakes while this it's slowing down

Skill Issue:
Since I like super upright and I turned my mtb into a giraffe, it's super weird when the handlebars are low, idk your butt is sticking out it felt awkward, I'll probably get used to it.
Top tube frame is high, my balls keep hitting it unlike my mtb, I have to unlearn my mounting on mtb to this road bike

Future plans:
Since this is secondary only, I'm not gonna fully invest on it. But I'll definitely make it more comfortable, I'll probably buy a stem and seatpost suspension. Oh also safety like lights, chainstay guard, frame protection, etc.

For now this are my observations and thoughts after 2 hours of trying road bike in my area.

Wider tyres at reduced pressure will help some. Try something in the 35mm range.
