Hi all.
just after some advive from someone more knowledgeable than me.
My brakes have been squealing like a pig recently, so watched the park tools guide on how to change disc brake pads (my first time, always had rim brakes before).
Are these pads are contaminated/worn?

Yes they are contaminated, clean the disc rotor with white spirits or isopropyl alcohol and paper towel ,and fit new pads .
Clean the brake calipers as well
They look rough, but not extremely worn. Possibly contaminated, yes.
Generally you should be able to see the different components of the resin/sintered pad like this:

You could try to decontaminate your discs with isopropyl alcohol, and grind your pads against a hared surface + sandpaper to try to clean them, otherwise they need to be changed.
What preoccupies me is the grooves in some of the pads where you see missing material. Check that the discs are smooth. If you see some missing material, if they’re too thin (use a caliper), you need to change them as well.
I’d clean and put brakes back together and order new pads in case they’re still loud.
I thought these were ping pong paddles for a second
