Hello,
I found a super nice aeroad for sell but the problem is that the back wheel looks pretty bad.
I just need some advice before to buy it as i felt in love with it. Do you think I can ride it like that or will i need to change thé wheels ?
She is selling it for 3000€ and i think I can negotiate it for 2600€

You absolutely should not ride that wheel. It looks like the bead is damaged, which is a blow-off failure waiting to happen.
Judging by that very-new looking tire, this person hit a lot of curbs and replaced the tire just before the sale and hopes a buyer won’t notice.
Fuck no. That rim is a time bomb. That’s also like a $3000 wheelset so I’m blown away that someone could have abused it that badly. My guess is a sudden flat where the tire came off and it rolled on the carbon.
Have you ever heard of OceanGate?
Bro this is like bicycle malpractice. This wheel belongs in the trash, not on Facebook Marketplace.
Good lord, the person selling this is a real bastard thinking this is OK to ride, and much less, pass on to another rider.
Do not ride, do not buy.
Are you sure this is a legit Canyon Aeroad? It looks off … And also – 3000 eur or 2600 eur is way too much for used bike with mechanical groupset. Check the outlet prices on Canyon website …
for this price you should rather buy a new bike than some dodgy aerod with mechanical 105 and fake carbon wheels. At least i would not. There are currently great deals to have on all the big shops like bike24, etc. Trek Domane with di2 for 2500€ for example …
The original owner should contact Princeton Carbonworks directly as they likely will offer a discount on a replacement wheelset. That wheelset is two generations old now though so they likely don’t have a direct replacement.
Tell them they can keep the wheelset and buy it for $1600. Put a pair of Panda Podium wheels on and Go!
Those wheels are done. You can get great wheelsets for 1200€ from china. So if you can get the bike for 2300€ you get a decent deal imho when comparing to prices for new aeroads…
Both rotors also look like they’ve got some strange wear patterns. Between the condition of wheels and rotors I’d say this bike has been ridden quite hard. Check very carefully for any other damage, but Id pass
The wheel company might do a crash replacement for the rim, but, with rim, labor and shipping, it will still be pretty expensive. With those wheels, I would not pay more than $2000 usd at the very most for the complete bike. Maybe $1000 for the bike without any wheels. Maybe.
Why do you need these? They will catch a lot of cross-wind and make your bike less stable.
Wow, the guts on that person to sell wheels like that at that price is almost impressive but also infuriating.
Those are junk and unsafe. If the wheels look like that imagine how they treat the rest of the bike.
The best advice is to save a bunch of money to spend on something that might make a .00005% difference in your riding.
