Hi,

not overly worried, yet I’d like to know from you guys how serious of a damage I might have 🫠, I was doing my indoor training session today, after a while I started hearing a squeakie noise, therefore I stopped. I immediately noticed that two bolts on the same axis holding the crank and the chain rings together were loose and came quite out.

result of this is that the bolt that was most out did some signs on my frame.

what do you guys thing?

  1. From your pic, that is minor cosmetic ‘damage’.

Of more concern is that the chain ring bolts have loosened to that extent. Good job that was indoors not out!

The chainset needs to be removed & the bolts re-torqued. A dab of medium loctite might be in order?

Fortunately hollowtech chainset are easy to remove & reinstall.

Also check for damage to bolts & the retainers. Replace if needed. I’d say they weren’t tight enough to begin with.
