They are very comfy. I love them, did ride a bit and no problems so far but…
the design 😂 who the hell does something like that. in general your front crotch panel or call it what ever, has some kind of scale. It is a pattern. You don't notice it untill you stand in sun.
I am going to rock them but found it so hilarious. The creator of that was trolling hard.

I have to ask, I’ve heard people say that they like Assos because they leave room in the crotch so you don’t feel too packed in. Is that true?

It’s to reinforce the crotch area for 2 reasons:
For cold season gear, it’s an extra layer for the cold
For summer gear, it eliminates the centre seam like on other bibs. It’s much comfortable without it and it wears like an underwear
Usually found on their upper tier from the Equipe line
Keeps the crotch area nice and toasty
