Got this Genius 930 at a really good price and gave it the first round of changes:

disclaimer: i'm more of a trail-explorer than a bikepark rider. I head into the woods and try to find my own lines and work on incorporating bunnyhops, endos, manuals and such. Lots of pedaling, that's why i stuck with the lighter exo casings.

  1. mudguards because i ride year-round in all weathers

  2. the Dissector front wasn't my thing with the lack of transition grip, since i can't always lean into turns as aggressively when riding between trees in the thick forest. A DHR II in MaxTerra turned out to be a nice choice. Not perceiveably slower but a lot more chill on the transition grip.

  3. the stock 12mm rise/8° just didn't feel right on my wrists and elbows. Got a 50mm/12° bar and really liking it. Doesn't feel too light on the front wheel and really good on my arms. Plus it pulls up really nicely for hopping around. new grips for matching colors.

just stoked for how the setup turned out and wanted to share.

last two pics are stock config.

Really nice bike. Is it made for trails or you took it because it’s light?

  2. My first mod would be to take off the reflectors. Those things are dangerous….joking of course, but i would ditch them. Honestly if you are doing park and chunky stuff, they may break off anyway and litter the trails. I do have a front mudguard but hate the big ones. I understand necessity in some climates though. I never minded the dissector but ran it out back. Always preferred the DH2 up there but am now running Continental Kryptotals. Slow but seem to have good traction. Not an ebike guy, but good looking rig.

I have a front fender. Wouldn’t do the rear, adds unnecessary weight and too noisy. Breaks easily. Never had those tires, but im relatively new to adult mountain biking. I’ve been considering the butcher/eliminator combo. Has anyone tried them?

Dude getting downvoted for using light reflectors for their intended purpose 💀

  5. I can relate to the explorer not bike park rider. You notice things a lot more on a bike than a car, but cover more ground than walking
