Just finished the Shimanami Kaido tour across 7 islands between Onomichi and Imabari. Overall, easily one of the best rides of my life. Completed it over 3 days and took my time exploring different islands and seeing the more quiet side of Japanese living. Many people do this with road/e-bikes as some of the hill climbs can be a little difficult, but overall very doable fixed. Did unfortunately get (slowly) hit by a car in Hakata, but only knocked the wheel out of true, STEEL IS REAL. No updates on the bike since the last post, other than I had to replace the seat post bolt as the original one gave up on me, not as elegant but it works. I ride this around Tokyo every day so i need it to function above keeping it original. Also my Kashimax gold is actively melting, anyone else experience this?
