Yeah, the creator of this video is wrong. I have seen another video where they did this with 22 caliber pellets for an air rifle and it was shooting faster and harder than a normal 22 bullet. Also, they did not use any wadding just the 22 blank and the 22 pellet.
As a kid in the 60s i used blanks and a bb wrapped in wax paper in the ol stevens crackshot 26. The results were less than spectacular. No biow up,however.
What was the point of the wad? Bullets don't have wads and I know for a fact that a blank cartridge is very capable of firing a projectile at lethal velocity. That's exactly how Brandon Lee died
The idea does work, but not with .22 caliber slugs, Using Gamo brand pellets works. Gamo brand pellets are the gold ones. Those work well with blank-firing bullets.

I have done this for years…. i have never had that issue. but you need to NOT use the most powerful of the Ramset blanks.

It does work with better execution making the round lol alittle modifications and it works. I wouldn't use a semi auto tho

You can just glue them together. They even fit in your magazine
