Background: I had a polygon s3 back in the day. I plan to ride it outdoors in sg (once/twice a week) and indoors using a trainer. Im around 166cm.
Im stuck between 2 options
1. Van rysel 105 – cheaper option. Pros – it seems newer. However im in between xs and s. So im worried if its too big.
Price is sgd 450. Seller is throwing in a few more goodies
- Canyon sl 2021 – blue in color. Lol I really like the looks of it. Price is sgd 1300.
Full carbon by the looks of it. This is a 2021 model
The Van rysel original price is 1600sgd. Seems the safer option. On the other hand, thr canyon looks sexy and i wonder if it wil be a better fit and will not require me to upgrade. Worried about the 2021 dated model.
I want to prepare for a triathlon ij the next year or two.
Stuck. Appreciate some thoughts

that is not a 2025 bike, I am certain. regardless, take canyon, better deal overall.
The Canyon is not worth double the cost it has a some minor upgrades to the wheels and drivetrain but it’s really the carbon frame you are paying for. Both of them are a slightly ‘dated’ design in that the pros have moved to 30-32mm wide tires with disc brakes and these both have rim brakes typically a max tire of 28mm. So the canyon will not save you from upgradeitis. Van rysel the value pick and is absolutely a quick enough bike to get into triathlon, and the canyon for if you definitely want carbon frame.
Very strongly doubt that is a 2025 bike. I don’t believe they sell a rim brake anymore. Bike is prob ok – canyon is almost certainly better
