I'm flying from the UK to Whistler later this year, and I am looking at buying the Evoc Mountain Bike Bag Pro

British Airways have a bike bag maximum size of 190 x 95 x 65cm, but the Evoc bag is 145 x 99 x 36cm

This is my first time flying with a bike bag, so i'm not entirely sure how strict BA are on the width being 4cm oversize. Their customer service wasn't much help at all

Anyone have any experience of this?

Cheers

  1. No airport or airline has ever measured the dimensions of my checked luggage, only the weight. I may have gotten lucky, but I don’t think it’s a problem. Try to keep it under 23kg (take out the tires, if necessary) and you should be OK.

  2. Not sure if BA is the same, but US airlines generally care about the total linear dimensions – ie. 190+95+65, which the Evoc bag would be well under.
